Hey Guy's,
Quick question.
I have installed a new rear tire and at the same time have lost about 12 lbs. The problem is that the fornt tire is about 60-70% good and I started having wash out issues. It seems the new rear tire is pushing the front tire out of the line plus have I not reset my sag due to weight lost. I have always replaced tires as a set so I'm not sure what's going on here. Could it just be the worn front with new rear and to much force placed on the front due to to little sag??
I've washed out twice this week. Two dents in the pipe and bent pro tapers.

Hammer, I am not an expert at set-up, by any means, but I'll take a stab at it. More than anything, I think it's as simple as the new, rear meat is hooking up and the front, worn meat is not. Before you replaced the tire, you were used to riding a bike that was uniformly loose. Now the rear is tight and the front is loose. Have you reversed the front tire yet? If not, you may want to until you replace the tire. As for the weight loss, congratulations! If anything, weighing less seems that it would make the rear feel stiff and unplanted. Just a SWAG.

Thanks for the input. I picked up a new tire today from Mike Butler (mxmike) and once I get it installed I'll report back. Also grab a 2010 YZ450F from Yamaha Motor Corp. and we're headed to Ampmx this weekend.

Wait a minute... Hold on there... Did you say you grabbed a YZF 450 ! Woa.. just kind of tossed that in there ehh? Good deal! I hope we get a full ride report!!
The new rear tire and semi-worn front plus the 12 lb loss (Congrats man!) will have the same effect as raising the forks in the clamps I think, Quicker steering at the expense of stability. Tuck\o/
I guess I should have read through all the posts before I started answering any! Glad you got a chance to ride the YZF, it must be good to Be the "Hammer" !

I hope to ride the new tire this coming weekend. I have been busy this weekend riding the YZ450F. Here's some what a ride report Ampmx Ride Report. I had so much fun that I didn't take the best notes. I returned the bike this morning and hated to see her go.

Just another update. Went out to the local track this weekend and the new tire is what I needed. The bike held every line I could place it in with zero wash outs. Thanks.
